Dr Mary Bourke
Mary has a unique and experiential perspective on children’s health and development- particularly as it relates to oral facial function.The daughter of pioneering Australian dentist Dr Kevin Bourke, she grew up surrounded by his passion for human health and learning about the intricacies of oral facial growth, breathing and the origins of human nutrition. Mary has been in Chiropractic Practice for over 28 years and is a great believer in the synergistic benefits of working with other health practitioners in a collaborative approach. This belief in collaboration has been very much a part of the philosophy behind Myo Munchee and is critical to getting best patient outcomes for oral facial and cranial growth, neurology and function of the stomagnathic system. One of her key professional goals with both chiropractic care and as the CEO of Myo Munchee is to spread the word about the benefits of chewing and the denaturing effects of long term pacifier use.
Dr Peter Bourke
Since graduating from RMIT Chiropractic in 1985 Dr Peter Bourke has been in private practice in Melbournes CBD. He has had an ongoing clinical interest in the Cranio-Dental field and has attended numerous courses by many and varied chiropractic and dental TMD professionals. Peter will share his key concepts in the management of TMD for manual therapists.
Dr Donny Mandrawa
Having graduated as a dentist from the University of Melbourne in 1998, Dr. Donny Mandrawa has since evolved his career to focus on the functional health of the future generations. Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary health care providers, he is passionate in helping children grow and develop optimally through myofunctional pre-orthodontics. In 2017, he and Dr. Dan Hanson established Myofocus Melbourne and created the Myofocus Orthodontic System. With extensive experience in lecturing locally and internationally, they both are now actively teaching their system to dental and health practitioners through the Myofocus Courses and Mini Residency programs. Dr. Donny lectured to 150 dentists for the University of Airlangga in Surabaya, Indonesia, on myofunctional pre-orthodontics, and he presented at the inaugural ICAP Symposium in Toronto, Canada, in July 2018, as well as being on the expert panel at the same conference.
Dr Dan Hanson
Dr Dan Hanson is a dentist (BDS) and Buteyko breathing educator (MBIBH) who since 2011 has limited his practice to early interceptive treatment of soft tissue dysfunction, breathing dysfunction and malocclusion. Since 2014 his focus has been laser frenectomy procedures and correction of oral dysfunction. Working in a team with a collaborative approach to care is a key feature of his philosophy. Dan has lectured to professional audiences on a regular basis since 2012, with locations including London, Lyon, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Perth, and Auckland. His topics include Tongue Tie as well as myofunctional orthodontic . He is co-founder of both Myofocus and The Tongue Tie Institute.
Cole is the founder and director of Happy Kids Klinic based in Byron Bay, NSW. He has a unique perspective on breathing retraining and coaching through his own personal health journey suffering undiagnosed Sleep Disordered Breathing as a child and young adult. He works primarily with children to assist them retrain their breathing and oral habits. He holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Rehabilitation, a Bachelor of Clinical Science majoring in human structure and function and is currently undertaking a Masters of Osteopathic Medicine.
Sharon Moore is a Speech Pathologist and Myofunctional Practitioner, with 39 years clinical experience across a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders. She has worked in diverse clinical settings in Australia and London.Currently, she runs a Private Practice in Canberra, servicing referrals from medical and dental specialists, for patients of all ages. The integration of Orofacial Myofunctional principles into traditional Speech Pathology work allows a unique approach to managing disorders of the upper airway, including: breathing, swallowing, chewing, phonation, resonance & speech.Sharon has a special interest in early identification of craniofacial growth anomalies in non-syndromic children, airway obstruction in sleep disorders and concomitant orofacial dysfunctions. She is author of Sleep-Wrecked Kids (www.sleepwreckedkids.com). Recently, acknowledgement of the role of myofunctional therapy in management of sleep disorders, hails a new era of relevance for work in the upper airway, and affirmation of her chosen clinical direction. She believes that here has never been a more important time for medical and dental colleagues to work as a team with significant health morbidities of sleep disorders in all ages now widely known.
